Update

So I was driving home when I came upon a realization that I thought was journal worthy.I realized that I eagerly and desperately subconsciously search for The One. How every date I have gone on, every relationship, and every flirt I have given was all in search of her. Also how I passionately want to give my entire being to someone. Now, the relationships I have had I try to give 100% of me, but my heart will sometimes disagree and only give percentages of me, whether I like it or not. And then I feel guilt because the other person is giving all they can, and I am only giving out percentages Continue reading

8 Ways to Build Self Confidence & Belief in Yourself

One of the biggest reasons why people fail in life is because of a lack of self confidence.Without having self confidence and belief in yourself, you are very limited to how far you can go in life. Reason being, the first key to success is believing you can succeed. And that’s just the first step… the bare minimum requirement for you to even step up to the plate and take a swing at life.So if you don’t even have what it takes to step up to the plate, then the game is over before it starts. Unfortunately, this is how so many people are living today. The lack of self confidence is killing our society. It’s like people forget that our Creator (The GREAT I AM) lives on the inside of us and that with Him we can do all things! If more people knew just how great they were, this world would be a better place. How to build self-confidence starting right now | My Body Tutor – Blog

One of my idols growing up was Michael Jordan, a man full of self-confidence. He said, “You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them.”Indeed.If we don’t expect ourselves to stay consistent with our diet and exercise then we won’t.Expecting things of ourselves comes from self confidence. And I believe the best way to gain self confidence is to actually do the things we really want to do.You know, all of those little promises we make to ourselves. When we make good on our own word, it feels awesome. We start to believe in ourselves. We start to really trust ourselves. We all know the feeling of having been lied to by ourselves is not a good one Continue reading

Bike-O-Rama I: Life Is But A Dream

December 12, 2001Fort Lee, New JerseyAgain I slept the sleep of the just…the just plain exhausted. I may have been in the noisiest place on the planet, but not once did I stir from my slumber. I awoke in the early morning darkness, ate my breakfast and was back on the road–a very busy road. I rode along Palisade Ave. through congested places like Bergen and Union City, Weehawken and Hoboken, right on into Jersey City, where I wandered onto the Pulaski Skyway. Continue reading

Slow realizations

So, I am (surprise, surprise) extremely slow on the uptake at times.D recently mentioned the possibility of imposter’s syndrome. Now, I always knew that I had self-confidence issues, but I hardly ever thought about it, approaching it pragmatically in the “it’s not affecting my life” sort of way.Except it is. It is when I tell myself I can’t do a masters, that to even THINK of applying to an international court/tribunal is being idealistic and stupid, that I’m just not good enough, really, to even be where I am (it’s true though – it’s a bit luck of draw to be at a top university, especially when they don’t conduct interviews)So yes. Knowing is one thing.. Continue reading

When you’re here, you’re family

There are a few reasons I like working in the food-service industry. The money is pretty good. In the right restaurant I could live quite comfortably just serving. So far serving has paid for my tuition, my apartment, my trips abroad, my brand new laptop, and other things that I would definitely not be able to afford working any other job. It’s helped me improve my self-confidence and socializing skills. Continue reading
