Undefeated

I just can’t stop crying seeing photos and films that I took with my friends a couple days ago.Remembering the memories of last weekend makes me desperate.Of course it’s delightful and precious, but it induces me to miss my friends so much.I really am nervous whether I can adapt with new environment and make friends in London.I truly have complicated feelings (excited, worried, etc) now, and my consciousness is always stuck in my head.It doesn’t mean I won’t leave, but my self confidence is getting weaker and weaker as my departure become closer. However I decided to study in London by myself and it’s my dream since I was a kid.Everything hasn’t started yet, so I must not be depressed.I have to stay positive, live in the moment, work hard, be kind, and stay strong! :) Continue reading

In Camera – Parisian street style

A recent visit to Paris confirmed for me that older Parisians, men and women, dress well and with style. They take pride in their age and appearance. Wrinkles are badges of honour, rather than scars to be eradicated, as in the UK and USA.My street photography still has a way to go, but here are a few shots that illustrate the pride and flair with which many Parisians dress. Much if it may not be conventionally stylish, but there is a self-confidence and self-expression (see the man in the duffel coat) that, this side of the Channel, is so often lost in the rush to wear sportswear – the downfall of many a man over forty seeking style. Building confidence with speech

GLOSSOPHOBIA is the fear of speaking in public or of trying to speak. Physical symptoms of glossophobia include anxiety, clammy hands and a dry mouth.Comedian Jerry Seinfeld believed that a person’s number one fear is public speaking followed by death.“This means to the average person, if you go to a funeral, you’re better off in the casket than doing the eulogy,” he said.PKT Logistics Group Sdn Bhd group chief executive and managing director Datuk Michael Tio shared that he used to have butterflies in the stomach before having to speak in front of an audience.Over the years, he managed to overcome his fear through ample practice.“It is important to know your subjects well before speaking. If I have to do a PowerPoint presentation, I will make sure that I prepare the slides and have a good understanding of the topic,” said Tio.The danger of not having information at one’s fingertips could trigger a panic attack during public speaking, he added.“Problems arise when you are suddenly at a loss for words in the middle of a speech. The situation becomes worse when panic starts to set in,” said Tio.“The most effective method is to do your homework before speaking. Continue reading

The power of inner voice guidance | Build Self Confidence

Pin It It is hard for me to write about your inner voice or following your inner guidance without beginning to sound a little ‘out there!’ and while being seen as a tree hugger is not new for me I do like to do my best to keep to the logical side of building self-confidence without going too far into my realist world  However, the power of inner voice guidance is so very real for women looking to develop the strength and self-confidence to make their own decisions and rely on their own judgement that I have to let go of what’s logical for a little while.I want to deal here with something that is intangible. That you can’t see or touch but that is very real and exists. It has been called a gut feeling or intuition. You might prefer to call your inner voice God. Whatever you choose to call it we all have within us the ability to be guided by unseen forces that help us through life.If you have ever had something happen in your life and your response was “I really wish I had listened to myself” then you already have experience of your inner voice.I remember the very first time I used my inner guidance Continue reading

Run The World, Girls

Source: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1204381/2/index.htmAugust 13, 2012 Run The World, Girls History has been lit large across the London fortnight—the likely last stands of Phelps and the Dream Team, the kinetic brilliance of Bolt—but the electricity of these Games has come from another growing, if not new, source: towering womenALEXANDER WOLFFPIERRE DE Coubertin may have been the father of the modern Olympic movement, but he was no Title IX dad. The French nobleman once declared from under that fastidious little mustache of his that an Olympics with women would be, among other things, “uninteresting” and “unaesthetic.” Oh, how the first 11 days of the London Olympics put the lie to both claims.Consider the galvanizing beauty of the women’s judo final, in which Kayla Harrison, sexually abused for nearly six years beginning at age 11 by a now-imprisoned male coach, felt safe enough to leap joyfully into the arms of a new sensei, who had helped her discover the self-confidence to win the first U.S. gold medal in the sport. And consider the race that led to Britain’s first gold of the Games, won by a coxless pair that included Heather Stanning, to whom the Royal Artillery granted a leave in 2010 so she could train. Now that she and Helen Glover have accomplished that mission, Captain Stanning is due back with her regiment, which will soon deploy to Afghanistan’s Helmand province. And consider the U.K. weightlifting record that Britain’s Zoe Pablo Smith set a week ago Monday, after which she ducked into a Victoria’s Secret on the edge of the Olympic Park to do some celebratory shopping.
