Self Confidence Sunday – How To Build Self Confidence | Holly …

Welcome to the first segment of Self Confidence Sunday entitled How To Build Self Confidence! How to build self confidence is a topic that’s so incredibly important, but so many people struggle with it, myself included.I know the awful feeling of having no belief in yourself, and I know what’s it’s like to feel like you can’t accomplish anything. To believe, so strongly that you’re incapable of success, or unable to accomplish your goals and aspirations is something that I dealt with every day until I started my blog .But did you know that if you increase your self confidence just a tiny bit, your life could drastically improve? How To Build Self Confidence -If You Don’t Believe In Yourself, Who Will? Our self-confidence is shaped when we are children, and we all know how cruel other kids can be.I’ve always been a little bit bigger, and the other kids certainly let me know just how overweight I was.Being bullied is how most of us lose our confidence as children, and that’s where mine took a nose dive. Not only did I become self conscious, I started to lose out on experiences because of my fear of what others thought about me.At the end of the year in grade 8, I opted not to experience the zip-line or go swimming because according to my classmates, I would break the zip line rope.As silly as this sounds, I started to believe it, and so I missed out on that experience. This lead me to turning down a scenic canoe ride when I went camping with my cousin a few months later, because I was afraid to tell them my weight. What affected me most were when my family would tell me these things. There was a time I lived with Grandparents while my parents packed up our old house.I moved early so I could start school and so it was just my Grandparents and I.They were large people themselves, but they would sit and call me chubby and pudgy and “pleasantly plump”.It’s one things when other kids take away your self confidence, but when it comes from your own family, it’s just that much worse. It took me a long time to start regaining my self confidence, 20 years in fact, but I’m finally comfortable with myself.I am putting my self in positive situations I never would have before.I’ve gone from a push-over to someone who can stand on their own two feet.Because I gained back my self confidence I was able to quit my job, something I never believed I could do.Luckily, through the personal development aspect of The Empower Network, and the community support from the Prosperity Team.I’ve regained enough self confidence to write a post like this, and make this video to go along with it:How To Build Self Confidence VideoNever let anyone steal your self confidence.Always believe in yourself, and never give up. Gaining Self Confidence | NLPiste.com

Dr. Maxwell Maltz, in one of his elctures on psycho-cybernetics, talks about how importnat it is that we gain self confidence if we are going to be success in anything.  He gives us 10 principles to use to do this and we are going to look at some of them in this article.I have always been interested in ways that could help me gain self confidence.  Being a rather shy person it seemed as if this was something that I needed to concentrate on so that I could achieve the level of success that I wanted to have in my life.In my study of psycho-cybernetics, I found that Dr. Maltz considered this as a top priority for creating a self image that would allow you to reach all of the goals that you set for yourself.  I regularly use his list to make sure that I stay on track so that I can take my life and my business to the highest possible levels. The first principle that Dr. Continue reading

The meaning of life

This topic sounds something between a heavy philosophical tome and Monty Python. Victor Frankl wrote on this topic extensively following WWII. He started a following of people who felt that this was a very important aspect of life and cause of mental illness called logotherapy. His book, Man’s search for meaning, (1946 in the original title and in German) was followed by The Will to Meaning (1988). Continue reading

Feels like taper madness… what happens when runners don’t run

A long period of not running is a bit like a prolonged taper, it does weird things to your mind. When the running stops, that running-shaped bit of our lives becomes a void where there be dragons and monsters to work wyrd magick in our heads. When we taper, we have to trust the space of not running and it’s often when we get a deeper understanding of running. Not running because of an injury brings a similar void. Continue reading

The Beginning of the End

I am currently flying over Montreal on my flight home. Marcus is sitting next to me watching some action packed movie, Kai is doing something similar, Ginger is passed out cold, and my parents are enjoying themselves in Business class and sending us drinks and snacks periodically. (Again, thanks a lot!!) It’s been a whirlwind of 4 months. Time hasn’t gone faster, or slower, at times Continue reading

University Guide

Around this time last year I was sitting my final A level exams and was about to leave college after 2 years of work. Like a lot of people, it was a stressful, scary time and I had to think about revision and university. In the UK you have to apply to university through UCAS, this just basically puts everything together for you, your personal statement which includes a very cringe worthy reason why universities should choose you, any finance details and your 5 choices. Once that is out of the way, your conditional or unconditional offers come in and you eventually pick a firm and an insurance choice Continue reading
