60 Seconds to Confidence Tip #18 « Building Self Confidence Blog

9Jul/13060 Seconds to Confidence Tip #18Recently, one of my new clients said, “The worst thing that can happen to a gambler is to win.”When gamblers win they often get an inflated idea of their ability to beat the odds. That’s how they lose a load of money, and other important things, in the long run.My client could see parallels with this gambling mindset and behaviour to his tendency to ‘wing it’, prepare at the last minute and talk his way out of trouble if he needed to.He realised that he had kidded himself that he was too creative and spontaneous to need or desire systems and planning. He thought that having systems would cramp his style and make life boring. Then something happened that made him admit he could be even more profitable and successful in his life if only he created successful systems for marketing, selling, leading his team, making sure he recharged his batteries etc. Systems would make his success more predictable, he would experience fewer nasty surprises and he would have time to be more creative rather than fighting fires. Courses, Classes, & Training on Self-Confidence

Orange County, CA – If you search online, you will find an abundance of courses, classes and training on the topic of self-confidence. These can be done online, but I believe from personal experience that the best way to learn the key skills on self-confidnece is working with someone in person or in a live class. Why is that? Well, your very lack of confidence can undermine your own certainty on how well you are advancing, in your own estimation. Key to building self-confidence is having your accomplishments, even the small ones, acknowledged by another. Often it takes another person to say “Great!” to what you just did. Continue reading

10 Top Tips from the – Building Self Confidence Blog

6Aug/120Building Self Confidence- 10 Top Tips from the OlympicsI don’t often watch sport – I’d much rather take part. But the London 2012 Olympics has been an exception for me.I have felt very inspired and moved by the dedication, commitment and good grace when winning or losing that has been shown by most of the athletes. And the enthusiastic support of the crowds.Even though I find it hard to understand why such talented people put so much effort into racing up and down a track or a pool – and sacrifice so much to do it a fraction of a second faster, it is still uplifting to see such passion for doing something difficult. Most of these athletes are fantastic role models for qualities such as team spirit, exellence, discipline, endurance and focus. How do they display so much confidence in the face of the high expectations of the nation, the massive competition and the eyes of the world upon them? Here are some confidence building and life success secret the Olympics has reminded me of:Create a good team round you – people who care about your success and have the knowledge and skill to help you get to the next level quicker. In particular, hire a mindset coach who can help you think positively and get the best out of yourself even when facing the strongest adversity Continue reading

How to nurture your kids confidence this summer « Raising Able …

Making scones is fun and sometimes messy.Kids are messy.  Cleaning up after them is part of part of being a mother. That wisdom came from my mother, who had nine children and cleaned up many different kinds of messes. When things get messy, they get interesting. Creativity starts flowing, interest heightens, you get lost in the project. Discovery occurs. Problems get encountered and solved. Confidence and self-esteem build through the experience.None of this happens if you have to worry about “Mom getting mad about a messy kitchen,” or “Dad getting upset that his tools didn’t get put away.”It takes time to clean up and teach them how to put away the tools where they belong in the workshop and kitchen Continue reading

Self Confidence and Egotism | HighlandsAcademy.org

Self Confidence and EgotismJun 15 2012 Believe in yourself, but do not tell the world what you can do — show it! You should be cautioned, however, to learn the difference between Self-confidence, which is based upon sound knowledge of what you know and what you can do, and egotism, which is only based upon what you wish you knew or could do.
