Building Your Child's Self Esteem – Authentic Home Based Business …

Building Your Child’s Self EsteemBuilding your childs self esteemIt’s one of those things that all parents want to provide for their children and one of those things that many feel they do not know how to do: raise a self-confident child. Self-esteem oftentimes seems like a fragile, distant thing that we all know what it is but don’t know how to develop. Your self-esteem is a compilation of how you feel about yourself. Unity in the Muslim Community – Musharraf Hussain

The cartoon shows two dogs leaving an exhibition about cats, one says to the other “I didn’t like it”.I think we can all recognise a common human weakness in the phrase, “I didn’t like it”. The dog disapproved all those wonderful pictures of cats. Similarly, we too so often fail to appreciate the other, the wisdom of a culture from ours, or the beauty of professions different from our. All are initially hard for us to understand Continue reading

Building Self Confidence – Bangs and a Bun

Building Self ConfidenceOur internal dialogue is a funny ol’ thing. It takes us on a journey each and every day – bigging us up during our triumphs, sending us into wallowing states of despair at other times, that pesky little voice dictates how we feel about ourselves for better or worse. Many let the words of others weigh in on their personal value but I disagree – people should really be able to say whatever they want about you, but it’s only how you feel about yourself that matters (I’m not saying people should be complete assholes to you but ultimately, how that effects you says more about you than them). More British madness: Schools are deliberately failing to correct spelling mistakes to avoid ‘damaging pupils’ self esteem’

Teachers are being told not to correct more than three spelling errors at a time to avoid damaging pupils’ self-confidence, an MP revealed yesterday. Andrew Selous highlighted the practice at a secondary school in his South West Bedfordshire constituency but fears it is widespread across the country. The Tory MP condemned not correcting all errors in a piece of work as a ‘false kindness’ which denies pupils ‘fundamental’ skills needed in the job market. Mr Selous said he had been alerted by a worried mother but had decided not to name the school behind the policy. In a letter, she told him: ‘I have spent hours of frustration letter-writing but no one is able to help or offer support. ‘My children are hard-working but they need to be given the basic building blocks of English.’The school’s marking policy states: ‘Teaching staff are not to highlight any more than three incorrect spellings on any piece of work. How to… increase your confidence

How to… increase your confidenceIt’s worth remembering that we gain confidence by doing things, and not the other way around (i.e you have to get confidence before you can get out and do new things). So there are many occasions when we want to go into new situations where we can often feel pretty nervous. The good news is that, by knowing how confident people act and training ourselves to act in a similar way, we can give the appearance of being a confident person. Continue reading
